C.B. Boswell, MD, FACS, came to St. Louis in 1995 to complete his residencies in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Washington University’s Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Part of this training was with Dr. Leroy Young, who was then a Professor in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In his final year at Washington University, Dr. Boswell was chosen as Executive Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery. He earned his Board Certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 2003 and recertified in 2013. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). He has been president of St. Louis Area Plastic Surgery Society and president of the Missouri Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
After his 6 years of surgical training in St. Louis, Dr. Boswell was awarded two prestigious plastic surgery fellowships, first specializing in facelifts and facial rejuvenation while working with Dr. John Owsley in San Francisco. His second fellowship, which focused on oculoplastic and facial aesthetic surgery, was spent at Paces Plastic Surgery in Atlanta. Dr. Boswell is a fellowship-trained, highly specialized plastic surgeon in the St. Louis area, who is experienced in the latest facial procedures, such as endoscopic browlift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), deep plane facelift, short-scar and mini facelift, cheek and midface lifts, and facial resurfacing. His expertise also includes body contouring surgery (“Mommy Makeovers” and body contouring after massive weight loss), eyelid reconstruction, and breast augmentation, reduction and reconstruction.
Since he became a founding partner of BodyAesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Boswell has continued his training in the newest procedures and technologies and been named to the Botox Cosmetic National Educational Faculty. From 2006 to 2020, he has been included in “Guide to America’s Top Surgeons” selected by the Consumer’s Research Council of America. He has been selected as one of “St. Louis Best Doctors” by St. Louis Magazine every year since 2007. And in 2015 based on the strength of his credentials, patient results, and expertise, Dr. C.B. Boswell has been named a “Top Doctor” on RealSelf.com. In order to be a RealSelf “Top Doctor,” a physician must be board-certified, highly rated by their patients, and an active participant in educating patients about aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery. Dr. Boswell is among only 10% of RealSelf doctors to achieve this honor.
Born in Ames, Iowa, Dr. Boswell was raised in Olathe, Kansas. His undergraduate degree in biology was earned at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, but included a semester at Oxford University in England. Dr. Boswell graduated from SMU with Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude honors. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
Dr. Boswell lives in St. Louis with his wife Jill and their daughter Avery, whose photograph adorns our front desk. Avery’s arrival slightly displaced the household status of the Boswells’ two Brittany Spaniels, Jules and Jasmine along with Caicos, our big brown mixed dog. In addition to his family and surgical practice, Dr. Boswell’s passion is fly-fishing, which he still does with his father when time permits. We expect to find Avery standing in the stream and keeping Dad company.
